The Big Move

I'm moving to London on Sunday to start a new job as part of my placement year of university and i'm so excited... I obviously can't take all my clothes with me so I've been sorting things out and decided to sell some bits that I won't be taking and to help fund my new lifestyle (not gonna be easy to resist shopping in London!)

here are some of my favourites that i'll be sad to part with...

the link to my shop is here ----> :)

Wish List #5

Gina Tricot Black top and Mint Green shorts/River Island Black and Green Shorts and White Flatforms/Above Knuckle Ring/Pink Hairspray

I've actually already bought all the River Island stuff - both shorts are in the sale for £10 each, if you're going to get the green shorts i'd get the size up because I bought the 8 and my bum is practically hanging out (not a good look)
I want the pink hairspray to try out on the ends of my hair because I've wanted pink tips for ages but haven't dared to dye it so if I use this and like it I might take the plunge!

Hide or Seek

A couple of months ago In March a few of my house mates asked me to model for them for a video that they had to put together for there course which would be a viral video to promote menswear weekend at LFW. They chose a game of hide or seek in a car park close to our house and this was the result...

Here are a few pictures from the day too...
(sorry about the quality I edited them on instagram)

Denim & Leather Combo

Top - h&m
PU Leather Jacket - Primark
Waistcoat - Charity Shop
Studs - eBay
Shorts - Vintage
Shoes - Office
Watch - Micheal Kors
Necklace and above the knuckle ring - Dixi
Other jewellery - various

Yesterday I went shopping in Leeds with my boyfriend and this is the outfit I wore, I was recently inspired by Maisiedeir and her post on the Zara leather sleeved safari jacket with the khaki jacket which she cut the sleeves off and put over a leather jacket.
I bought a denim waistcoat a while ago from a charity shop and haven't worn it yet so decided to put some studs onto the collar and put it over my leather jacket.
But I'm now on the look out for a cheap khaki parka to cut the sleeves off and put over my leather jacket too!

Graduate Fashion Week

I'd like to apologise for my lack in posts at the minute i've been really busy with university coursework/revision over the past couple of months but now i'm finished I shall get back on track!

I got the opportunity to work at Graduate Fashion Week through my university on Wednesday this week, I really enjoyed looking round all the different unis stalls at all the amazing garments the graduates had made!

I also went to a talk on the use of Social Media and its importance with Hilary Alexander the former Telegraph fashion editor, Dolly Jones Vogue editor and Melanie Rickey fashion editor and blogger at Fashion Editor at Large which was really interesting and another talk with Colin McDowell interviewing Henry Holland.

Here are some of the photos I took on the day
(stupidly forgot to take my camera so excuse the picture quality)

I also bought a goody bag for £2 from the Company stall which consisted of...
and some foody treats which were eaten!

This is the outfit I wore out last night, I love how the top is cropped at the front then drapes down at the back, thought i'd pair it up with some black high-waisted skinny trousers and my Jeffrey Campbell Litas
I also wore my hair up in a high pony which i never do and I actually quite like it.

Let The Sunshine

This is an outfit I wore last week when we had lots of sunshine!
I picked up the dress and shoes in London,  bought the dress that everyone has (topshop version) for only £10 and the shoes were only £12,
such an easy outfit to put together if you just need something to quickly chuck on.

Collar Tips

I bought this shirt a few weeks ago (minus the collar tips) from a charity shop and straight away ordered these collar tips off eBay to put on it!
They were so easy to attach, I just got the tip put it where I wanted then got some pliers and gently clamped either side of the tip and that was it.

I love how they can give a bit of an edge to a plain sheer shirt!

Bowes Museum
A couple of weeks ago I got the chance to go to the Bowes Museum in Durham with my university.
The building itself was beautiful - it is a magnificent french style chateau that took 23 years to complete.

We went to look at the Fashion and Textiles Gallery.
As a group we were set the task of chosing a garment that we thought could be influential to the trends on the catwalk for spring summer 12.
We chose the garment below
We chose this bishops alb because of the lace used around the cuffs and on the bottom.

Lace is a huge trend for S/S especially mixing it with pastel shades which is also a big trend.
Louis Vuitton, Valentino and Erdem being only a handful who are utilising lace this season.
Erdem,Valentio and Louis Vuitton

Off topic...

I couldn't get over was how thin womens feet used to be years ago!

Shimmer and Sheen

On Monday I got the chance to model for one of my friends for her styling project. The theme was shimmer and sheen, a trend i'm personally loving at the minute. The outfit consisted of a silver top, light pink skirt, gorgeous silver wedges (which I now want!) and silver accessories.
Top, Skirt, Wedges - Topshop
Clutch and Cuff - Miss Selfridge
Necklaces - River Island

Jasper Garvida AW 12

On Tuesday I got the chance to go down to London and be a dresser for Jasper Garvida's AW 12 collection. The collection itself was inspired by Russian Constructivism and was named 'Revolutionnaire Situation de la Forme'.  The colour palette consisted of black, brown, khaki, camel, dark blue and gold. Statement bold jewellery such as big gold chains and earrings were consistent throughout the collection.
Dr Marten heels were also used throughtout the show.

Here are a couple of pictures that I got back stage

Here are some of my favourites from the collection, the middle model Manuella is the one that I dressed.
